Who we are

Home Project Copilot is an early-stage company based in Toronto, Ontario, building a service that matches homeowners with renovation and repair professionals. We operate homeprojectcopilot.com. For anything in this policy, contact fclassjesse@gmail.com.

What we collect

Only what these pages actually send. There is no account, no login, and no payment on this site.

• Your email address — only if you type it in and submit it. Every page works without it; you can read the whole page and leave without giving us anything.
• Which page you saw and what you clicked — for example that you were on our contractor page and tapped "Sign up for free", or which answer you picked in a poll. This is how we learn which idea people respond to.
• Where you came from — the referring website, and the campaign tags on the link you followed. If you arrived from a Google or Meta ad, that link carries an advertising click identifier (gclid or fbclid) that tells us the ad worked, not who you are.
• Basic technical information — your browser's user-agent string, which tells us things like "iPhone, Safari" so we know whether our pages are broken on your device.

We do not ask for or store your name, phone number, address, property details, or payment information anywhere on this site.

Why we collect it

• To email you when we launch in the Greater Toronto Area, if you asked us to.
• To measure which pages and messages people respond to, so we build the right product.
• To work out which ads are worth paying for.
• To catch automated spam submissions. Our forms include a hidden field that real people never fill in; if it's filled in, we discard the submission.

We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the form, and on our legitimate interest in understanding whether there is a market for this product.

Who else sees it

We are a very small operation and use ordinary third-party tools rather than running our own servers. Your information is handled by:

• Google — your submission is written to a private Google Sheet through Google Apps Script. We also use Google Analytics to count visits and clicks. Google processes technical data including your IP address in the course of providing analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — on our contractor pages only, the Meta Pixel reports back that an ad led to a visit or a signup, so we can measure our advertising. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — hosts these pages and serves them to your browser.

These providers store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We do not sell your information, and we do not share your email address with contractors, homeowners, lead brokers, or any other third party.

Cookies and similar technologies

We set no cookies of our own. Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set their own cookies to recognise a returning browser. We also use your browser's session storage to remember which ad you arrived from while you are on the page; it is cleared when you close the tab.

You can block all of this. Browser settings, ad blockers, and Google's Analytics Opt-out Add-on all work on our pages, and none of them will stop the page itself from working.

How long we keep it

Email addresses are kept until we launch and contact you, or until you ask us to delete yours — whichever comes first. If this product does not go ahead, we delete the list. Analytics data expires automatically after 14 months.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and equivalent laws elsewhere, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent. Email fclassjesse@gmail.com and we will action it within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason, and there is no cost.

If you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

These pages are served over HTTPS, and submissions travel encrypted. The response sheet is private to us. No system is perfectly secure, and we hold as little about you as we can precisely for that reason.

Children

This site is aimed at homeowners and trade professionals and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted an email address, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Since we are pre-launch, this policy will be replaced by a fuller one when the actual service goes live.
